The month where many look forward to as we approach a new year. December is the month of Christmas, the month where modest little Christmas decorations can gather and bring Christmas joy to families.
Of course, this worldwide celebration would be incomplete without a holiday from work. Speaking of vacations, I'm sure you had a good time regardless of whether you were able to travel abroad. With so, allow me to share my 2022 Christmas holiday.
20th December 🎄
On Tuesday, 20th of December, I attended a Christmas service organised by SMPK 1 BPK PENABUR in GKI Anugerah church. The ceremony began at 6.30 am, with many Christmas and spiritual songs brought by the students who had joined the band extracurricular. All students actively participated by singing in worship to God.
This was followed by a sermon delivered by the pastor. He preached to us, encouraging us to quit being arrogant and start empathising with and caring for one another. In addition to that, he also led us to several prayers for the students and teachers. Finally, this Christmas service ended with numerous offerings from a range of talented students. Singing, dancing, and playing various musical instruments.
Right after it ended, my friends and I went to go have a Christmas lunch at a nearby restaurant where there we also exchanged gifts.
Ending this 'Christmas day', I was given the opportunity to perform a piano piece at Atmosphere Resort Café - one of the restaurants in Bandung. As it was December, and Christmas was getting near, I decided to play one of my favourite Christmas songs, 'Last Christmas'.
25th - 26th December 🎂
Monday, December 26th, is my birthday! My family and I spent the day at home, relaxing and unwinding after a long and exhausting Christmas the day before. Even though we simply stayed at home, I had a great time.
In the morning, my mum surprised me with a cartoon-like cake which I didn't expect. After lunch, I was occupied in receiving multiple packages from my thoughtful friends. Ending the day, my family and I went to go for an all-you-can-eat dinner.
Jakarta Trip 🛩
It's time for vacation! For this vacation, as the government has lifted travel restrictions, as well as loosen covid protocols, my family and I agreed to have our holidays in the country to stay safer.
We went to Jakarta and spent our time there for 3 days. On the first day, we wasted the entire morning in the car. Traffic was horrible and we had only made it there by 4 pm. Without wasting more time, we immediately dropped our bags at my aunt's apartment and quickly head to one of the trending sites - Pantjoran PIK.
On the second day, we went to countless malls and tried a few variety of foods. As it was still Christmas season, most malls still had their Christmas decorations up, while some even had events which we tried to take part in. On the third day, we went for a little stroll through a mall. We ate our lunch there and then left to return home.
It was a short trip, and I wasn't completely satisfied, however we had to return home as school was starting soon. I must say that I had a great time trying new meals and seeing sites I hadn't seen in 3 years. Though I didn't appreaciate the awful traffic and horrible weather, it didn't ruin my trip.
2022 has been incredible, with lots of memories and lessons learnt. Praying that 2023 will be a better year, packed with many amazing memorable events.
So there you have it! My last month in 2022! ♥
