On Wednesday, 16th of February 2022, SMPK 1 BPK PENABUR held an event called KPI and Bina Karakter. KPI is an abbreviation of "Kebaktian Penyegaran Iman". The point of this event is to teach the students to bring out the best of themselves as well as to grow our faith to believe in God.
The event started at 8 am, we opened the event with a morning devotion, followed along by the reflection and finally prayer. We were then given an opening speech from our vice headmaster. This event was held online through ZOOM due to the current pandemic.
The 1st session's topic is "Knowing My Potential/Grit". Teenage is a moment where we are filled with exploration and experimentation, where we find out who we are and what our future is gonna be like.
We also have to know our potential. Potential is a hidden ability that still needs to be developed.

To achieve success, we have to start with our desire. Without any desire, we won't be able to achieve success because we will feel like it's a burden. We then have to have persistence, many people fail because of a lack of persistence in creating new plans/desire to replace the previous failed plans/desire. We will then have to work hard to fight and earn our desire, must be persistent, takes time, be patient.
The 2nd session's topic is "Being The Best Version of Myself". How do we be the best version of ourselves? That is by optimizing and showing our potential. And how? That is by using this formula :
We can't be successful with only talent, or only with effort. We have to develop and grow our talents to gain an achievement.
And finally, the last session, "KPI". We started this session with a prayer and some worship songs. We then started the session. It was led by Pastor Yohannes, he taught us to believe in ourselves and use our talents, everyone has their own talents but sometimes it is just covered with our negative inner thoughts. He gave us this one bible verse.
" For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb"

He also told us to STOP
- Comparing ourselves with other people negatively
- Cursing ourselves or our family
- Complaining on what we get
But START
- Embrace ourselves, accept the diversity
- Empower ourselves by learning new things
- Evaluate ourselves by introspecting ourselves positively
