Coronavirus is a large family of viruses that may cause illness in animals and humans. Several coronaviruses are known to cause respiratory infections ranging from a common cold to more severe diseases.
COVID-19 is an acronym for "CO" which stands for corona, "VI" which stands for virus, "D" which stands for disease, and "19" which stands for 2019, the year in which it appeared. This virus was unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.
The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, cough, tiredness, loss of taste, and loss of smell. While less common symptoms may be sore throat, headache, and red or irritated eyes. Serious symptoms of COVID-19 are chest pain, confusion, and shortness of breath, which can cause death.
The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a dramatic loss of human life, affecting everyone worldwide. However, the impact of the pandemic and its consequences are felt differently depending on our status as individuals and as members of society. While some try to adapt to working online, others have no choice but to be exposed to the virus while keeping society functioning.
How COVID-19 spreads :
Due to the current pandemic, we are all suggested to not leave our house unless for necessary reasons. Here are some tips on how to prevent COVID-19 :
- Wash your hands with soap/alcohol regularly
- Eat healthy food and avoid raw food
- Cover your mouth and nose when coughing/sneezing
- Drink lots of water to be hydrated
- Avoid contact with animals since they can be infected by the virus and transmit it to you
- Don't touch your face, especially when your hands are dirty
- Stay at home if you don't necessarily need to go
- Do social distancing
MY EXPERIENCE
When COVID-19 first appeared in China, Wuhan, I didn't really worry that much, thinking it wouldn't be a worldwide pandemic. Until ... COVID-19 hit Indonesia, cases were slowly rising, everyone was in a fright, we all immediately rushed to the supermarket, buying food stock. The government put the country into lockdown, causing most activities needed to be done online.
During the first few months of online learning, I was pretty much confused, everyone had to adapt to new things. As for me, I had to learn how to use applications that I've never used before, but after a few months, I became familiar with it.
Things are different now and then, a lot of things have changed. It has been 2 years since COVID-19 appeared and cases of people infected are not decreasing but drastically increasing. Take the vaccine to help the world end covid!
